Kia Ora! My name is Krystal and I am a publicist for ‘Look After Me Homestay’ as part of my work experience. Recently, I was given an opportunity by Julia Charity to interview our work placement recruits over the course of the work placement programme. To begin, I had the chance to interview Sunil Bishnoi.

Sunil has joined our work placement programme provided by Julia , in the position as a SEO/ Online marketing. Sunil advises Julia on the creation of on-line promotional material (such as designing google adwords campaign, Search Engine Marketing) for our Homestay Network.

Prior to joining the work placement programme, Sunil has spent more than 5 years working with I.T Companies at various levels of management back in India. Since moving to Rotorua in mid 2012, he is studying at Waiariki Institute of Technology, pursuing a graduate diploma in Computing and Technology level  7 and working part-time on the forecourt at Z Energy, Fenton Street.

Having previous qualifications in Bachelor of Commerce and an Advance Diploma in Information Technology from NIIT, Sunil believes that by joining the work placement programme, the knowledge and the skills that he has learnt will benefit him in long term. He’s not only be certain of that the work placement programme will give him confidence to work with organisations interested in on-line marketing and business web development which will help to create a better exposure for the company.  I asked him why he has chosen the work placement programme and he replied “to use the skills, knowledge and the experience which will help me get jobs in the future”. Sunil’s dream job is to work in a company such as Google and Microsoft.

Of Sunil’s contribution, ‘Look After Me Homestay’ Founder Dr Julia Charity says “having someone with extensive on-line marketing and SEO experience has given our on-line presence a real lift. Our web traffic has doubled in the time Sunil has been working for Look After Me Homestay.

Overcoming challenges and gaining skills that will set you up for life is one of the mottos that ‘Look After Me Homestay’ abides by. Kia kaha Sunil, we wish you all the luck for the coming year!
