What's this got to do with Christchurch?
Hi,
I'm Julia from Look After Me - NZ's Homestay Network. I'm originally from Christchurch and all my family still lives there - so I'm acutely aware of how things are for regular Cantabrians.
We're trying to do our 'bit' by providing a quality website where home owners can list their property and rent out their spare room or sleep out, short-term to guests coming to Christchurch.
If you're a home owner with a spare room, guest wing, sleep-out or self-contained unit - we'd love to have you in our Look After Me Hosting community. It works like Trade Me where guests can browse for in-home hosted accommodation and then contact you directly to book and pay.
We urgently need properties in Christchurch to help with demand so if you're reasonably mature, social and warm-hearted and enjoy meeting new people, you'd benefit from joining our Network.
We make it easy to become a host even if you're not that great on the computer. We certify each property with our Quality Mark of Trust to ensure great value for our guests, but prices are fair to you as the host.
We know it's a big deal to let people into your home - but for those Christchurch home owners who have already tried it, they've been really enjoying meeting new people and the extra income. [You can check out our stories on Breakfast and Canterbury TV by clicking the links below]
We're offering Christchurch home owners the chance to try it for free for one month. Sign up before 28 February and if you're not happy with the quality or quality of the enquiries in that first month, we'll just quietly remove your listing - no fuss, no obligation. If you do decide to join us, it's $129 (see full details of what this includes below).
We work extensively with the media, i-sites, and events like Ellerslie Flower Show to make sure we get guests to your door.
There is no obligation to offer any meals, but most hosts leave out a simple 'help-yourself' breakfast. Our guests will enjoy your local knowledge about walks or rides in the area, or the best place to dine, fish or swim, or what ever hobbies and interests you might have in common.
We affliate with large national events all over the country and are an official accommodation partner for the NZ Cycle Trails.

Our hosts are mainly mature couples and women living alone. We have a few single men and families. All are quality checked to ensure suitability for our network and safety for all.
We have our own range of branded toiletries, confectionery and tea to offer guests. From as little as 50c for sticky labels, $1 for jellybeans, $2 for beautiful, quality home-made soaps.

- Our time to 'proof' your listing to ensure you are presenting your property in the best possible way.
