Hi I'm Layla and I am on Work Experience at Look After Me, as the team publicist. I have been working alongside some really amazing people, and this week I interviewed a fellow team member, Carmen Cartwright.

She is part of our work placement’s 9-member Data Entry Team who are collectively responsible for transferring all of the property data from the old website to the new website. So far Carmen has entered the names and emails of subscribers into the MailChimp database and entered property information into the Look After Me website database.

Carmen feels that this placement is going really for her, considering she isn’t as skilled on the computer as she would like to be. She applied for this job because she would like more experience working on computers and to gain new skills for life. Working for free isn’t an issue for Carmen because she sees it as an opportunity to gain more knowledge with typing up data on computers.

Carmen’s dream job is to work on a computer, possibly in an office environment. But being hospitality trained, she would love to work back in that industry as well.

I asked her for one thing that the other team members wouldn’t know about her, and replied: “I am a mum, yet the others don’t know how many children I have!” Throughout Carmen’s life, she has struggled with many things and has lived overseas, just recently coming back to live in Rotorua, New Zealand.

Overcoming challenges and learning skills that will set you up for life is what the Look After Me placement is all about. Well done Carmen for stepping up to the challenge!
