I have fished in New Zealand many times over the last 20 years both guided and solo. Tony Murphy has regularly guided me and on all occasions we caught good fish. Whilst I, like many, would rather float a dry fly down a run as opposed to a nymph, a number of times Tony urged me to drop a heavy nymph (one of his) down a fast run and we had great results - large, hard fighting rainbow trout! I know Tony as a guide who knows how to fish and how to put you onto fish. He has a great understanding of the 'outdoors' and a good sense of humour ! Also if you want to take a day off from fishing and go hunting for peacock or turkey, then Tony can fix that too. I took two great peacocks one morning with Tony and then switched back to fishing in the afternoon! From a visiting fly fisherman's point of view, Tony is a 'no regrets' fishing guide!
